Location

Cooperative Center FCU purchased the historic former Bank of Martinez building to be the new home of its headquarters and loan center. TruEdge Builds helped realize a vision and revitalize this 6,700 sqft space that blends modern functionality with historic charm.

Summary

Honor The Past, Build For The Present

When the old Bank of Martinez building was built in 1908, today’s high tech reality was unfathomable. TruEdge was up for the challenge to create an advanced business environment while preserving the building’s character.

The Challenges

A Sprint, Not A Marathon

CCFCU had gone through the due diligence process and rejected two previous properties. The lengthened real estate process resulted in a condensed construction schedule. Still, TruEdge delivered the project on time.

Lots of Unknowns

The building’s history included an annexation of adjacent property and five previous renovations, which added up to a host of unique obstacles for TruEdge. Hidden and unknown conditions had to be overcome with no margin for error.

Big Challenges, Big Rewards

The team worked double shifts and weekends, procured materials ahead of schedule and met each obstacle with optimism, creativity and resourcefulness.

The result: A new headquarters and loan center that blends the character and charm of the original structure with modern functionality and finishes. CCFU is proud of its open, attractive workplace that supports and encourages employees’ best work.

The new Martinez location is home to all back-office operations including accounting and call center. It includes a member-facing loan center, meeting spaces, training/board room, break room, private offices, open work areas and inside ATM vestibule.
